MOVIE REVIEW
Capote
Starring: Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keenar
Directed by: Bennett Miller
Written by: Dan Futterman
In 1959, Truman Capote, New York socialite and Breakfast at Tiffany's author Truman Capote travels to Nebraska with childhood friend Harper Lee (To Kill a Mockingbird) to investigate the brutal and inexplicable murders in a small town that he turned into a chilling book.
In Cold Blood Hoffman becomes Capote in this film. He embodies the role from head to toe with the voice, the mannerisms, and the facial expressions. He is Capote.
The story is chilling. Capote is larger than life and always wants to be the center of attention and he falls in love with one of the murderers, Perry Smith, during the long process of writing the book (four years).
The film is riveting.
