MOVIE REVIEW
Down in the Valley
Starring: Edward Norton
Where has he been? In Down in the Valley, the ever-talented Edward Norton (Fight Club, Keeping the Faith) plays Harlan, a pseudo-cowboy with
questionable integrity, sanity and common-sense, who finds himself stuck in The Valley.
He quickly falls in love with a young, young woman (Evan Rachel
Woods) and becomes obsessive.
Norton nails the role and its layers and complexities. He makes Harlan waver between bravado and vulnerability.
The audience does not know whether to feel sorry for him or despise him.
Down in the Valley delves into moments of absurdity and creepiness in this
intriguing character study.
