SANTA BARBARA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The 22nd Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival was a major success, attracting over 60,000 visitors, bringing attendance to an all-time high. The festival also hosted 35 Academy Award nominees - 10 of whom went on to win the Oscar®, including Best Actor and Actress Forest Whitaker and Helen Mirren.
Oscar® nominees in the Adapted Screenplay category for Children of Men, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby attended the festival with Mark's feature directorial debut First Snow, which they co-wrote. Yari Film Group will distribute the film which stars Guy Pierce and Piper Perabo this spring.
SBIFF's American Spirit Award, given to a unique independent feature that has been made outside mainstream Hollywood, went to Man In The Chair, directed by Michael Schroeder and starring Christopher Plummer and Michael Angarano.
