MUSIC REVIEW
Band: kanda
Album: "All the Good Meetings are Taken"
Label: Pop Tart Records
At this time of year, you might be looking for some music to lift your spirits, get your days started, add a little sunshine to your day after a long blah winter. This album from kanda is a great find.
It's super sweet, energetic, techno-infused indie pop. Using diverse instruments-violin, glockenspiel, computer, synth-- and arrangements this duo of Akina Kawauchi and Arland Nicewander take turns on vocals and sometimes sing songs together.
"Drink for three" has a soothing beat to it, "Arctic" is catchy, with its New Order-esque infusion and while it's completely in Japanese "Where do they?" is an addictive song.
All the Good Meetings are Taken is a fabulously funky album.
