MUSIC REVIEW
Band: Kylie Minogue
Album: "Ultimate Kylie"
Label: Capitol Records
This is get up and go music to get you prepped for a hot date or night out with friends. It's the penultimate pop song fiesta from charming, energetic singer Kylie, I imagine.
She excels at the dance-techno infusion genre and has a certain ABBA-esque approach-jacked up, completely danceable songs about somewhat thoughtful topics-boys, love, infidelity. It's almost impossible not to get moving and not to shimmer along with Kylie.
Her voice is distinctive, solid and hasn't lost any power since her heyday. With a number of hit songs from the late 80s like the unavoidably catchy "Do the loco-motion," feverish "I should be so lucky," her newer popular, stunningly gorgeous "Can't get you out of my head," and lush "Love at first sight."
The ambitious number (30) of songs makes up for the few that fall short. Everyone needs a dance album like this for the collection.
