MUSIC REVIEW
Band: Natalise
Album: "I Came to Play"
Label: Stars823 Records
The background story for how Natalise ended up doing this recording album is very unusual. She made a promise to her parents that she would graduate from Stanford University in three years so that she could pursue her musical dream.
With an A average, Natalise is very bright and it's evident through the lyrics of her music. The intriquate, unusual arrangements work well with Natalise's strong, independent sense of style.
Her vocals resonate her boldness, lack of fear and willingness to experiment with different genres-mostly hip hop. There's the club infused, smart, sexy and completely catchy "Watch This," the slower "I Came to Play" showcased Natalise's strong vocals and there's the achingly stunning "How Far."
I Came to Play is an impressive debut.
