MUSIC REVIEW
Band: The Perishers
Album: "Let There Be Morning"
Label: Nettwerk
The entire album simmers with romantic nibbles and bittersweet harmonies. It is more addictive than a bottle of Clonipin and a few glasses of wine. It's about getting over it and moving beyond.
Opening track "Weekends" ponders about all the people around us who perhaps have no plans for the weekend.
Darkness and light collide on this album in a sad, effective way. Every song is so moving and poetic.
"Still Here" has a haunting beat and equally romantic vocals:" When you're gone I'm still here... I know you're still around/ You'll come back for me/ So this world has left you bare/ I no longer care." I bit mean-spirited sung with sugary tongue.
Already featured on the O.C. and Veronica Mars, this Swedish band has this cool moody appeal that engulfs you from the first note. "Going Out" is soft and generous in its gentleness.
