I'm a romantic realist. I know that after so many years of dating and still being single I'm probably never going to be in love. I have bands like Snow Patrol to keep me company though. I can relate to all the songs that Snow Patrol writes.
On its latest album, Eyes Open, this emo Irish band sings about love and longing and the impossibility of it all with an accomplished edge, which engulfs you with beauty, honesty and yearning. If you like Cold Play, you will like Snow Patrol.
Eyes Open is a wonderful new chapter for a supremely talented band. Vocalist Gary Lightbody melts and punctures your heart with a soulful intensity. From the power-pop opener "You're All I Have" to the thoughtful, melancholic "Chasing Cars," [featured on the soundtrack to a new film with Zach Braff, The Last Kiss] to the more upbeat and hopeful "Hands Open," Snow Patrol will fill you with sweet melodies and introspective lyrics.
