FILM REVIEW
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Oh what fun we've had watching Harry Potter and his friends grow up at Hogwarts. This movie starts out in 3-D, and holy smokes, was that cool. And, now we get to see not only darkness but love amid the magic. Once again Harry, (Daniel Radcliffe) and his buddies, Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) kept me glued to my seat.
The Death Eaters are after both wizards and muggles. Of course, Malfoy (Tom Felton) is somehow involved and and must be stopped. The new potions professor, batty Horace Slughorn (played brilliantly by Jim Broadbent) is key in helping to solve the problem by using memories of the infamous Tom Riddle. But first, Albus Dumbledor wants Harry, aka the chosen one, to help him with this mission, Harry wants Ginny, Hermione wants Ron, and Ron is oblivious while he snogs with his ever present new girlfriend, Lavender Brown.
Director David Yates does a superb job with terrific performances from the entire cast. This movie is definitely satisfying in so many ways. I am still mourning the loss of one of our favorite characters, though. Hopefully we haven't really seen the last of him. So, get to the theatre and put on your your 3-D glasses for a real treat. Even better see it in an IMAX theatre. As for me, I am ready to watch this movie again. And, I don't say that very often.
