Sideways

"Sideways" is a wine tasting side-road trip taken by Paul and Thomas as a combination bachelor party and mid-life crisis fling. Thomas plays a middle-aged actor who has finally decided he wants to get married...maybe. The maybe becomes even bigger when the two men tour California's mid-state wineries and meet two women they would like to know on an intimate basis.
Paul is divorced and still in love with his ex-wife so he is more reluctant than Tom who wants to recapture his fading youth. Tom is ready for wine, women and song. He soon complicates his life because he can't say no.
"Sideways" is the comic/tragic look at a man who won't grow up. It does have some funny scenes and some beautiful scenery but it's over two hours long and self-indulgent with many long camera shots.
