FILM REVIEW
Star Trek
Gather around as we initiate another generation to the S.S. Enterprise. The opening scenes seemed corny at best, and yet, it wasn't long before I was cheering for James T. Kirk, Spock, and the rest of the Federation to save the galaxy from the bad guys.
Karl Urban as McCoy gave my favorite line of the entire movie. The audience chuckled at his comic relief amid the pounding sounds and dizzying special effects.
When Leonard Nimoy hit the screen a flood of fond memories from the early Star Trek days made me love Spock with his pointy ears even more.
This movie is clever, brainy, and totally worth seeing, even if you aren't already a Trekki.
And, for those of us who watched the series in the 60's, it was a real treat.
