MOVIE REVIEW
The Upside of Anger
Starring: Kevin Costner, Joan Allen
Joan is a sharp-witted wife and mother left to raise four headstrong daughters. When her husband disappears, she suspects he has run off with his secretary so naturally she is angry. Kevin is her next door neighbor, a retired professional baseball player turned radio DJ, who is smitten with Joan.
Since so many children are living in broken homes these days, this script is very timely. The four teenage daughters have to deal with their father's disappearance and their mother's anger. They also have to juggle their own romantic dilemmas while trying to figure out what their mother is going to do with Kevin.
It's also interesting to see how being angry about something is such a waste of time when you find out later that what you thought was right was actually wrong.
"The Upside of Anger" has a richly layered storyline with enough funny original dialogue to make it to the "Top of the Hill."
Rated: "R" New Line Cinema
