LONDON
From Westminster Abbey to West End theatre, London is history, culture, style, business and art. Today's London is as much about 2008 as it is about 1008 and that is what makes London unique, a city rich in traditions like Afternoon Tea at the Ritz as well as a business climate that maintains its position as one of the best in the world.
Getting around London is also on the cutting edge with systems like the Oyster Card and the celebrated London taxis featuring bright new colors. This is a city where Royalty still commands a presence while a majestic river reinvents itself with new services like the Thames Clippers.
London is a multicultural environment that accepts new ideas like the Cinnamon Club, perhaps the best Indian restaurant in the world, yet transforms each idea with a touch of "stiff upper lip." English culture has affected the worlds of music, art and fashion with particular highlights during the 60's and 70's. What becomes immediately obvious is London is on the move in this new century with the London Eye and Houses of Parliament showing that the future and past are very comfortable here.
From the top of St Paul's to the Cafe in the Crypt at St Martin's there is so much culture attached to this metropolis that hundreds of venues and museums exist to showcase various events from the Barbican in the oldest part of the city to the O2 located in the newest part of this amazing city.
You can look forward to our three part series of London with reviews of some of the best hotels, restaurants, unique adventures and entertainment production offered by this extraordinary metropolis.
